Summary

As the automotive industry electrifies a larger percentage of vehicles, fuel cell-based electric vehicles will inevitably form a sizeable market segment. SwRI is pleased to present a webinar showcasing an ongoing benchmarking project. SwRI has acquired a 2021 Toyota Mirai and has begun instrumenting the powertrain. A road map of the various activities planned such as instrumentation, road testing, chassis dyno testing, thermal management testing and long-term storage testing will be described. In the second phase of this work SwRI will remove the stack and conduct stack characterization in a test cell. This webinar will discuss the powertrain overview, expected insights into the powertrain, fuel cell operation in the vehicle, and understanding of the powertrain control system. The findings of this benchmarking program will be available for purchase upon completion, and the webinar will end with a brief description of the process to become a subscriber.
