Duration: 1:00:59

Summary

SwRI is pleased to present a webinar showcasing the proven process we have developed for comprehensive conjugate heat transfer analysis in diesel and gasoline engines, which provides for more accurate and reliable prediction and thus improved resulting designs.

As the design of engines advances and continues to push the capabilities of current hardware to higher durability limits, more accurate and reliable analysis is necessary to ensure that designs are robust. This research evaluates a novel method of conjugate heat transfer analysis for diesel and gasoline engines that links combustion CFD, engine FEA, and cooling jacket CFD with the aim of creating more accurate predictions of heat losses and temperature distributions in engines than can be obtained with traditional analysis methods. This allows for more optimized engine designs.
