SwRI is pleased to present a webinar on modeling uncertain variables. This is the first webinar in a series on probabilistic methods for uncertainty quantification in engineering applications.
After providing a brief introduction to and motivation for probabilistic analysis, this session focuses on a core concept underlying all probabilistic assessments: random variables. We review the theory of PDF’s and CDF’s, discuss commonly used probability distribution models, and cover some of the tools and techniques that are used for fitting probability distributions in practice.
